The fan of stones on this piercing is designed to follow the curve of your ear. We used both marquise and round-cut stones so that the light hits the piece from a lot of different angles at once, making it look like it's in constant motion.
Look closely and you'll see four marquise-cut stones clustered in the centre, pointing outwards like a compass rose. Arching over them are four smaller, round stones, each set inside a smooth gold bezel. The entire piece sits on a flat-back labret post, which keeps it sitting flush against your ear. The gold itself has a high-polish finish, so it's very reflective next to the stones.
We make this from solid 14k gold, not plated or filled. It's 58.3% pure gold mixed with alloys for strength, which means it’s durable enough for a piece you don't have to take off. Because it's solid gold, the colour won't fade or rub off over time. The post is internally threaded, which means the screw is on the front part. This leaves the bar that goes through your ear completely smooth, so it won't scrape your piercing when you put it in.

Is it safe to shower and sleep with the 14k gold Starlight Piercing in?
Yes, you can shower and sleep with it in. Solid 14k gold won't tarnish or be damaged by water. The flat-back design is also more comfortable for sleeping than a traditional butterfly back, as it won't poke you. Just be sure to dry the area thoroughly after showering.
How do I know if the standard 6.5mm stud length is right for my piercing?
The 6.5mm length fits most healed cartilage piercings. To check, you can have a piercer measure your ear, or measure the post of a comfortable flat-back stud you already own. If your cartilage is thicker, we can make an 8mm post for you upon request.
What happens if I need to return the Starlight Piercing?
We accept returns on piercings within 30 days of delivery, provided they are in their original, unworn condition. Please contact returns@vanhess.ca, and we’ll send you a prepaid shipping label. We can’t accept returns on worn items for hygiene reasons.
