It's best to take them off before showering. While the 14K solid gold can handle water, opals are a softer, more porous stone. Frequent exposure to water, soaps, and shampoos can cause the opal to lose its lustre over time. A quick, accidental rinse is fine, but daily soaking is not recommended.
