The French pavé setting on the band isn't just for adding diamonds. We cut small V-shapes into the metal itself, which exposes the side of each stone. It creates a scalloped edge that you can see and feel, and it lets in a lot more light.
A large, oval-cut diamond is held in place by four prongs at the centre. It’s encircled by a halo of smaller round diamonds, each also held by its own set of prongs. The band is about 2 mm wide and is lined with 31 round diamonds that go halfway down each side. The whole ring has a bright, highly polished white finish.
We make this ring from solid 14K or 18K gold. 14K gold is 58.3% pure gold, with the rest being alloys that add strength for something you'll wear every day. The entire ring is then plated with rhodium, a hard metal from the platinum family. This gives it that very bright, silvery-white colour and adds a layer of scratch resistance. Re-plating is a standard service that restores the bright white finish and can be done by most jewellers.
Can I shower with my diamond pavé engagement ring on?
We recommend taking your diamond pavé ring off before showering. Soaps and conditioners create a film that gets trapped under the small stones and in the metalwork, which makes the diamonds look dull. Keeping it dry is the best way to maintain its sparkle between professional cleanings.
How should a 2mm pavé band engagement ring fit on my finger?
Your ring should be snug enough that it won't accidentally slide off, but loose enough to turn on your finger without a struggle. It shouldn't leave an indent when you take it off. Sizing is critical for a pavé band, as it can be difficult or impossible to resize later.
