If you live in Coquitlam, you do not need to drive into the city to find your wedding bands. Vanhess Jewellery is right inside Coquitlam Centre, at Unit 2424, 2929 Barnet Highway, with a goldsmith working on site and every ring made and finished in our own workshop. You can walk in, try bands on your own hands, talk through metals and budget, and place an order the same afternoon.

We are a member of the Canadian Jewellers Association, and we have earned more than 150 five-star Google reviews from couples across the Tri-Cities. Buying close to home also means you can pop back any time for a resize, a polish, or a second look — no shipping, no waiting on a faraway workshop. Shopping with a local independent shop is something most Canadians say they value, even if few do it day to day, according to the CFIB.

Wedding bands you can try on in Coquitlam

A wedding band is a ring you wear every day for decades, so how it feels matters as much as how it looks. The only way to know is to put it on. In our Coquitlam Centre showroom you can compare widths, profiles, and finishes side by side, see how a band sits against an engagement ring, and check the fit on your actual hand rather than guessing from a photo.

  • Try a range of widths and profiles — flat, rounded (comfort fit), and bevelled edges.
  • Compare polished, brushed (matte), and hammered finishes in person.
  • See how a band pairs with an existing engagement ring before you commit.
  • Get sized properly on site so the ring fits the first time.

If you are still choosing styles, our wedding band guide walks through the basics, and you can plan a visit using our Coquitlam location page.

Men's wedding bands

Men's bands tend to be wider and more hard-wearing, and the choice of metal makes a real difference if you work with your hands. We stock and make a broad range, from simple polished gold to darker, harder metals that resist scratches. Comfort fit — a band with a slightly domed inside edge — is worth trying if you have never worn a ring before, since it slides on and off more easily.

  • Yellow, white, and rose gold in 14k and 18k.
  • Platinum for the most durable, naturally white option.
  • Brushed and matte finishes that hide everyday wear well.
  • Wider profiles and comfort-fit interiors for all-day wear.

You can browse styles and ideas on our men's wedding bands page, then come in and try the shortlist on.

Choosing a metal

Most of our wedding bands are made in 14k or 18k gold, in yellow, white, or rose. 14k gold is a bit harder and more affordable; 18k has a richer colour and a higher gold content. Platinum is the most durable choice and is naturally white, so it never needs re-plating the way white gold does — it costs more, but it wears beautifully over a lifetime. White gold is plated with rhodium for its bright finish, which is easy for us to refresh in store every few years.

Gold is also one of the most recyclable materials we work with. A large and growing share of the world's gold supply comes from recycled metal, as the World Gold Council reports, so a band made from refined gold carries real history without compromise. For a fuller breakdown of how each metal looks, wears, and prices out, see our wedding band metals guide.

Matched sets & engraving

Plenty of couples want their two bands to feel like a pair — the same metal, finish, or profile, sometimes with a small detail that ties them together. Because we make everything in house, we can match a set from scratch or shape a band to sit cleanly against an existing engagement ring. If you have an heirloom or an unusual ring already, bring it in and we will design around it.

Engraving is a simple way to make the rings yours. We can add initials, a date, coordinates, or a short message inside the band. Hand engraving and machine engraving are both available, and we will talk through what suits the metal and the space you have. If you want something fully bespoke, our custom wedding bands page explains how that process works, and our goldsmith handles it all on site.

Pricing, timelines & buying local

As a rough guide, our wedding bands typically run from about CAD $600 to $1,800 in 14k or 18k gold, depending on width, weight, and any diamonds. Platinum bands cost more because the metal itself is more expensive and harder to work. A custom matched set usually takes around three to four weeks to make, since each ring is built and finished by hand. In-stock bands and engraving can often be sorted out much faster.

Buying from a local shop has practical advantages beyond convenience. You meet the person who will make and look after your rings, you can settle questions face to face, and any future service — resizing, re-polishing, re-plating — happens right here in Coquitlam Centre rather than through the mail. If you are also shopping for the proposal, our engagement rings in Coquitlam page is a good place to start.

Wedding band questions

Where in Coquitlam can I try on wedding bands?

Vanhess Jewellery is inside Coquitlam Centre at Unit 2424, 2929 Barnet Highway. We are a two-minute walk from Coquitlam Central SkyTrain, mall parking is free, and you can reach us on (604) 653-6449. Just walk in — no appointment needed.

How long does a matched set take to make?

A custom matched set usually takes about three to four weeks, since each band is made and finished by hand by our on-site goldsmith. In-stock bands and engraving can often be done much faster, so tell us your wedding date and we will work to it.

How much do wedding bands cost?

Most of our gold bands run from about CAD $600 to $1,800 in 14k or 18k, depending on width, weight, and whether they hold diamonds. Platinum costs more because the metal is more expensive and harder to work. We will quote your exact band before you commit.

Can you engrave the rings and resize them later?

Yes. We can engrave initials, a date, or a short message inside each band, and because everything is done in house, we handle future resizing, polishing, and re-plating right here in store. Buying locally means service stays local too.
