Need a ring made bigger or smaller in Coquitlam? Vanhess Jewellery resizes rings on-site at our Coquitlam Centre bench — gold, platinum, palladium, and sterling silver, including soldered wedding sets, channel-set bands, and most eternity rings. Bring it in for a free assessment; many simple sizings are finished the same week. We’re a Canadian Jewellers Association member with 150+ five-star Google reviews, and every resize is done in our own workshop, not couriered out.
What we resize
- Gold, platinum, palladium & silver — 10k, 14k, 18k, and 22k gold, platinum, palladium, and sterling silver.
- Soldered wedding sets — engagement ring and band soldered together, resized as one.
- Channel-set & eternity rings — resized where the design allows; some are better rebuilt than stretched, and we’ll tell you which.
- Sizing beads & adjusters — for rings that spin or for knuckles larger than the finger base, without a full resize.
Pricing & turnaround
Resizing typically runs $45–$150, depending on the metal, how many sizes you’re moving, and the complexity of the band. Platinum and larger size changes cost more than a simple half-size in 14k gold. You get a free written estimate with firm pricing before we start.
Most resizes are done in 3–7 business days, and many simple sizings are finished the same week. Tension settings, rings with stones close to the shank, or large size changes get a structural assessment first — occasionally a ring is safer rebuilt than stretched, and we’ll always explain why before doing it. Every resize is backed by a 6-month workmanship warranty.
How to get the right size
If you’re not sure of your size, walk in and we’ll measure your finger on a proper mandrel — finger size changes with temperature and time of day, so we measure at room temperature for an accurate fit. For a surprise resize, bring in a ring the wearer already wears on the correct finger and we can match it. Looking for a full custom ring instead? See our Coquitlam custom design page.
Ring resizing questions
How much does it cost to resize a ring?
Usually $45–$150 depending on metal, size change, and band complexity. We give a free written estimate with firm pricing before starting.
How many sizes can a ring be resized?
Most rings move comfortably up or down one to two sizes. Larger changes are possible but may need extra metal added or a section removed — we’ll assess the band and advise whether resizing or rebuilding is the safer choice.
Can you resize an eternity ring or a ring with stones all around?
Sometimes. Full eternity bands and channel settings limit how much we can resize without disturbing the stones. Bring it in and we’ll tell you honestly what’s possible — including sizing beads as an alternative.
